Dr. Jamaka Course
Dr. Jamaka Course will serve as principal of Green Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year. She previously served as principal of Marshall Elementary. She brings more than 15 years of educational experience to this new assignment. Her career in education began at Van Winkle Elementary School as a Montessori assistant teacher who soon became a certified teacher. She served as an instructional interventionist at Oak Forest and Timberlawn Elementary Schools. She also served as an assistant principal at Walton and Johnson Elementary.
Dr. Course graduated from Jackson State University, earning her bachelor's and master's degrees in elementary education. She later returned to JSU to earn a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision. Additionally, she received instructional leadership training from the National Institute for School Leadership and Millsap’s Principal Institute.
Dr. Course believes in building strong relationships with teachers, parents, and community members to ensure the best educational experience for all of our students.
