Overview

Green Elementary is one of 33 elementary schools in the Jackson Public School District. Our serves scholars in grades pre-K-5.

School History

The school's namesake is Emma Gertrude Green (1877-1946). A native of Corinth, Green attended Millsaps, Alabama, Ole Miss, the University of Chicago, and State Teachers College at Memphis. Prior to employment in Jackson as first-grade teacher at the Poindexter School, 1913-1914, she taught in Corinth, Port Gibson and Greenwood. In 1915, she moved to Davis School, then switched to Power the next year, where she taught until retirement in 1945.

 Vision

The vision of Green Elementary School is to have high performing schools that serve high performing scholars in a clean and safe environment.

 Mission

Our mission is to provide high quality instruction in safe, respectful, potential driven environment, and effectively collaborate amongst community partners.
